Today's Prescription: A Few Ways to Relax

Happy Wednesday ya’ll!

There has been so much going on that lately my stress levels were at an all time high! I mean we lost our wedding venue in the middle of a scam, one day my closet just fell off the wall, and work was the last place I wanted to be.

However, I just had to get myself together and remember that a lot of these things were out of my control. I had to relax. I know I’m not the only one who has been feeling the pressure of everyday life, so I wanted to share a couple of ways I relax in my times of stress to get back to my center.

  1. Clean & Light a Candle: Sometimes my mind is cluttered because my environment is cluttered. To avoid going crazy, I throw on some music and clean up my apartment or my desk at work at the end of the day. When your space is clean, you can find things, get organized, and you feel so accomplished when you finish. After cleaning, I light a candle, because it ain’t over until that candle is lit sis.

  2. Cook: I’m not a pro, but I’m learning. Lately, I’ve been trying new recipes when I’m stressed. This way I wont’ spend money, and I can expand my skills. There’s nothing like trying a new recipe I’ve made after a long day at work.

  3. Spend Time with My Dog: Ya’ll, my dog literally is happy about the little things. Going outside for walks, a snack, and being under me. Nothing is new for him, but he is still excited about his everyday routine. I love it, he is my constant reminder to enjoy the little things.

  4. Read & Watch TV: As you all know, I love to read, but I love to watch TV just as much. Getting lost in a book or show is a way for me to break away from what’s going on, and just having some chill time.

  5. Talks with My Mama: My mama makes everything better! I’m such a mama’s girl that when anything goes wrong, I’m calling her the first chance I get. I guess it’s because I’m dramatic and she’s not, but she always knows what to say, and as she claims “Mama ain’t gone tell you nothing wrong.”

  6. Accept that I Can’t Fix Everything: This is probably the hardest thing ever, but I have to accept that everything won’t go my way and I’m not the ultimate fixer. Sometimes, I have to surrender, and let God work is out. I do this with prayer, by giving things over to Him. Well, He certainly hasn’t failed me yet.

So, what ways help you to stop stressing and relax? I’d love to hear more ways we can help each other out!

As always, I love ya’ll, be blessed, & stay fab!

XOXO,

Zaria
